If anyone talks to or sees Dan KV9N please share this info or have him call me about it so I can share it with him. If you talk to anyone else that might be interested, you might share this also with them.
As most of you know we had a discussion about helping at Camp Buffalo October 21st with the J.O.T.A. for the boy scouts. Fortunately their fall camporee falls on the same weekend so it's highly convenient this time. Unfortunately that's our regular meeting weekend. I figure we could have a short meeting as usual and after the meeting head over to Buffalo for this project. Several people at the meeting showed interest in helping out with this and I'm giving another opportunity for more of you to help if you would like. Our plan at this point is to try to set an antenna up Friday evening so all we have to do is get there, plug a radio in and start operating after the meeting Saturday. I wrote the following paragraph before writing this so bear with the little bit of repetition.
Ok everybody, Here's the news as I know it about the JOTA camporee in October. As stated before I think it best since we'll be arriving late to set up whatever antenna Friday evening so we're ready to operate when we arrive Saturday. Please let me know if you're still available and willing to help with this so I can keep Jeff updated on things. I'd like to operate into Saturday night for a little while if there are any kids that can't get enough radio as well as the boy scouts still interested in things.
When I hear more I'll let you know!

Subject: JOTA Camporee Preliminary Schedule
I spoke with the planner (Ryan Hillman) for the Camporee, and now have more information.
The activity times will be on Saturday from 10 AM to Noon and 1 PM to 5. A dinner will be served at 6 PM, and a campfire will be at 8 PM. The times are approximate, and may change by half an hour either way.
Nine to fifteen patrols (4 - 10 boys each) are expected. The patrols will rotate between activity areas every half hour, but will stay at the radio stations for two time slots.
It looks like we will need three HF stations active during the activity times to be sure everyone can get on the air. I also want to have a dedicated group to attempt to contact the International Space Station. If anyone is available to open a station on Friday or Saturday evening that would give extra radio time to anyone that finds radio especially interesting.
I plan to arrive at Camp Buffalo late in the afternoon on Friday to set up. I will camp that night. After supper Saturday I will return home.
Please let me know if this schedule will work for you. Also let me know if you want to set up a station, or just help staff one of the stations.
In the next few weeks we can work out all the details to make sure we have a successful event.
