MINUTES OF THE 12-16-2006 MEETING OF THE C.C.A.R.C.
The meeting was called to order at 9:05 by Chuck, N9PMW.
SECRETARYS REPORT:
Minutes of the October,21,2006 meeting were read by Tom, KB9WSL. Minutes
were approved as presented without additions or corrections.
TREASURERS REPORT:
Dave,N9WCQ made the report.
Beginning balance as of 10-21-2006 was $776.26
Check to Consolidated Union for Club Insurance $ 200.00
Check to the Red Cross for $20.00 as a donation for funeral in lieu of
flowers.
Check to Post office $40.00 for post office box rent.
Deposits of $32.61 and $67.00
Leaving ending balance of $605.87
The Treasurers report was approved as presented.
REPEATER:
Phil,W9LVY reported that Dave K9DVL replaced a fuse at the 147.180
repeater.The repeater had been down a couple of days.
Phil suggested a battery back-up be placed on the remote link at the EMA
with a trickle charger.
OLD BUSINESS:
Chuck reported a good time was had by Scouts and adults at the Camp Buffalo
event in October. The Cass County and Kokomo radio clubs were present to
assist the scouts in getting on the air. Chuck thanked CCARC members who
attended and assisted with the event.
Stations were set-up on 20 and 40 meters running SSB and PSK digital modes.
There was also RDF activities using HTs and tape measure yagi antenna.
A 6-meter module will be added to the Club station at the EMA building. The
module will be used in the Kenwood dual band radio. A work session will be
needed to install the module.
Phil,W9LVY asked in anyone knows when the next SET Test will be conducted.
Noone seemed to know. Phil asked if the Club would be interested in taking
part in some way. Chuck will research the event to try and determine the
date for the next SET.
NEW BUSINESS:
Dave,K9DVL, reported that Randys (W9CFI) tower is down. Randy wishes to
donate the tower and a multi-band HF antenna to the Club. He would like a
receipt for tax purposes for the donation. There was discussion and the Club
decided to issue a tax receipt for the contribution in the amount of
500-dollars. The tower is a Daves house at the present time.
Chuck,N9PMW, reminded members of the Advance Skywarn Training session
Saturday March 10,2007 at Elkhart Central High School.Registration fee is
$25 until Feb 15th,2007. The fee goes to $30 after Feb.15th,2007. The
registration form is available at the following website: www.imoskywarn.org
Bob, K9AWH made a motion to have the Club reimburse the registration fee to
any CCARC member who attends the Advanced Skywarn training session. Motion
was seconded and approved unanimously.
ELECTION OF OFFICERS FOR 2007:
Bob, K9AWH made a motion to retain the same people as officers and Board of
Directors. Motion was seconded and motion passed unanimously. Officers and
Directors for 2007 are as follows:
President: Chuck Hendrickson N9PMW
Vice-President: Todd Ervin N9PVQ
Treasurer: Dave Wandrei N9WCQ
Secretary: Tom Murray KB9WSL

FIELD DAY:
Chuck, N9PMW reported he is thinking about FD for 2007. Don, K9EQT said he
would be willing to host FD 2007 again. His offer is much appreciated.
GOOD OF THE CLUB:
Bob,K9AWH, reported that the EMA is working to get a system set-up with
channel 18 WLFI-TV to get a direct radar feed from WLFIs weather center.
Bob says WLFI uses multiple radar sites to track severe weather.
BILLS:
Dave, N9WCQ presented a bill for $7.80 for meeting notices. A motion was
made and seconded to approve the bills. Motion carried.
50/50:
9-dollars raised. Winner was Dave, K9DVL.
Next meeting will be January 20th at 9am at the Cass County EMA building.
Meeting adjourned at 10:48 am.
