                                       MINUTES OF THE 7-21-2007 MEETING OF 
THE C.C.A.R.C.


The meeting was called to order at 9:22 AM by  Chuck, N9PMW.

SECRETARY’S REPORT:

The  Minutes of the June 16,2007 meeting were read by Tom, KB9WSL. The 
minutes were approved as presented.

TREASURER’S REPORT:

The Treasurer’s report was presented by Chuck, N9PMW….as Dave, N9WCQ was 
absent/

Balance as of 6-16-2007 was  $431.53

Check for $ 200 for Field Day.

Deposit of $9.05 from Lemonade Sale

Deposit of $45.00 from Club Dues.

Deposit of  $ 10. 00 from 50/50

Deposit of $29.40 from cash  left over from Field Day

Ending Balance is $324.98

The Treasurer’s report was approved as presented.

REPEATER:

A fan has been installed on the 147.180 repeater to improve cooling for the 
transmitter. Dave, K9DVL suggested that the link antenna at the EMA building 
be located higher on the tower to improve performance. Bob,K9AWH has donated 
a dual band antenna for the 180 repeater at the Chase Park Water tower.

Phil, W9LVY is looking into get a final power amp for the 180 repeater. It 
was reported by Chuck, N9PMW, that the .230 repeater and the .350 repeater 
are working well. The antenna for the .350 repeater is up at Chuck’s house 
at about 44 feet.

FIELD DAY:

Chuck, N9PMW, reported FD was a huge success. He said there were some 
challenges, (rain and amplifier problems) but the Club met the challenges 
and everyone still had fun.  The Club scored about 1358 points for Field Day 
  as compared to just over 2000 points last year (2006).

Chuck said that John, KB9SIR will receive the “unsung Hero” certificate for 
managing to get a donation of hamburgers for the cookout.  The Club will 
have a picnic in the near future at which time the raffles will be held to 
disperse  prizes for the Field Day fund-raiser.

Chuck said testing of the Bob-Tail curtain antenna have not been completed 
yet and that the antenna is still up at Don’s (K9EQT’S)  place.  Chuck would 
like to make a tuner for the antenna for Field day next year.
NEW BUSINESS:

EMA badges for Club Members were made during the meeting.  Anna, KC9IDO, 
will check with the Logansport Parks Dept concerning reservations for the 
Club picnic. She will look to reserve space on a Sunday.

Alvin Beckman, EMA director, reported that progress is being made on the 
Communications room at EMA.

A work session has been planned for Saturday, August 4th…to get radios 
installed and other work done.

Alvin also reported that he thinks he can get a lap-top computer for the 
Radio Club to use in the Amateur radio area of the COMM Room. Plans also 
call for 2 phones to be installed in the room, along with EMA and Amateur 
radios, and possibly two TV’s…along with internet connections.

Alvin also reported that he will get Logansport Municipal Utilities to set 
the poles for the Amateur Radio HF Loop antenna at the EMA site.

GOOD OF CLUB:

Chuck reported that Brandon Delarenzo passed his Tech exam  at the June 
meeting. His call is KC9LVB. If you hear Brandon on the repeater be sure to 
congratulate him.

BILLS:

None

50/50:

$10.00 raised. Winner was Dave, K9DVL $5.00

Next meeting will be Saturday, August 16th at 9am at the EMA building.

The meeting was adjourned at  10:27 AM.
