MINUTES OF THE AUGUST 18th,2007 MEETING OF THE C.C.A.R.C.


The meeting was called to order at 9:11 am by Chuck,N9PMW.

SECRETARY’S REPORT:

Minutes of the July 2007 meeting were read by Tom,KB9WSL and were approved 
with one correction; the August meeting date will be Aug 18th, not the 16th  
as reflected in the July meeting minutes. Motion carried to approve the 
minutes.

TREASURER’S REPORT:

Dave, N9WCQ read the Treasurer’s report.
Beginning balance as of 7-22-2007 was $324.98
Deposit of $5.00 from 50/50
Deposit of $30.00 from dues payments.
Ending balance is $332.98

The Treasurer’s report was approved as presented.

REPEATER:

Chuck, N9PMW, reported that the link equipment at the EMA building is 
working. A transmitter was added at the EMA site for the 147.180 repeater. 
There had been an intermittent problem in the link receiver. Chuck also 
reported the .350 repeater is also running despite the storm.

OLD BUSINESS:

Chuck,N9PMW reported that there had been a good work session in the EMA 
Communications room recently. Several club members and EMA personnel got  a 
lot accomplished. The Club repeater was relocated underneath the stairway to 
the EMA attic, radios were installed in the Comm Room  (both EMA and Amateur 
radios) electrical wiring was done. Things that still need to be done….a 
lock on the cabinet in the Amateur end of the Comm  room, installation and 
relocation of feed-line bulkhead for the Amateur radio antennas…and moving 
of some antennas on the tower…and installation of the HF loop antenna.

Cookout will be held September 9th at the lower  pavilion at Spencer Park in 
Logansport. The club has reserved the pavilion from 1pm until park closing 
that day.
Bring a dish or two to pass. The Field day raffles will also be held during 
the cook-out….be sure to buy tickets. Watch the remailer and listen to the 
repeater for more information about the cook-out.

Dave, K9DVL asked if anyone had located the Club banner yet. Chuck asked all 
club members to look for the banner.

NEW BUSINESS:

There was some discussion about collection past due membership dues. A few 
suggestions were made. It was decided that all members would receive a new 
membership application form to complete which would contain a reminder of 
current or past due membership dues. Everyone receiving a  membership 
enrollment form is asked to complete it  and pay their dues.

GOOD OF THE CLUB:

A motion was made and seconded to give Chuck, N9PMW  a free ticket to the 
Lafayette Ham-fest.

The Club will schedule a test of the Bob-tail curtain antenna at Don’s, 
K9EQT’s QTH this coming Friday (8-24-2007). After the test the antenna will 
be taken down.

BILLS:

$13.00 to Logansport Parks dept. for rental of pavilion at Spencer Park.
$12.19 for buns for Field Day.
$ 5.17  for plastic eating utensils.
$`4.19 for food for Field Day.
$8.40 for postage for meeting notices for June-July-August.
$75.00  for Port-a-Jon rent for Field Day.

A motion was made and seconded to pay the bills. Motion carried.

50/50:  $10.00 raised. Winner was K9DVL $5.00 . He donated his winnings back 
to the club.

Next meeting will be Saturday, September 15th at 9am at Cass County EMA 
building.

Tom, KB9WSL, Club Secretary will not be present at the September meeting, so 
someone else will need to keep the minutes of that meeting. Tom will send 
out reminders between now and the September meeting.

Meeting adjourned at 10:18 am.
