            MINUTES OF THE DECEMBER 12th,2007 MEETING OF THE C.C.A.R.C.


The meeting was called to order by Chuck, N9PMW at 9:11 am.

SECRETARY’s REPORT:

The minutes of the October 20th, 2007 meeting were read by Tom, KB9WSL. The minutes were approved as presented with no additions or corrections.

TREASURER’S REPORT:

The Treasurer’s report was presented by Dave, N9WCQ.

Beginning balance as  of  11-17-2007 was  $ 604.23

Check to Dave, K9DVL,  $29.87, for rope and pipe for the 180 repeater project and work at EMA building.
Check to Anna, KC9IDO, $26.50 for funeral flowers for Bob Fickle.
Check to Dave, N9WCQ, for $263.27 for postage for September meeting notices and Feed Line news letter, Post office box rent, and Club insurance payment .   
Deposit of  $85.00
Deposit $8.00

Ending balance of $377.59

REPEATER:

Phil, W9LVY, reported the 180 repeater is running at low power at this time. He also reported  that adjustments were made to the squelch. Dave, K9DVL, reported that repairs to the 180 repeater amplifier will be in the works.

Tom, KB9VMW, passed around coverage  and terrain maps of  the  180 repeater coverage area.

OLD BUSINESS:

Chuck, N9PMW, reported that he got a good response to his email regarding ARES. He said those registering with ARES  need to have or get  NIMS certifications for ICS 100,200, 700 and 800. Certification can be done on-line for free at the FEMA website. Once you are certified, Chuck would like copies of your certificates so he can keep copies on file.

Brandon, KC9LVB was congratulated for his revamping of the Club website. Brandon also asked if the Club was interested in registering to get a domain name for the site. He said doing so might open the door to generating some income for the Club through banner ads on the website. He said the domain names, W9VMW.com, org and net were all available. The cost for the domain name would be $34.99 for 1 year or $59.98 for 2 years. After some discussion, a motion was made and seconded to seek the domain name W9VMW.ORG for 2 years. Motion carried unanimously.

NEW BUSINESS:

Election of Officers for 2008.

Chuck advised the Club that Todd, N9PVQ, had  told him that due to family commitments, he would be willing to step down as Vice President. Nominations were opened for Vice President. Those nominated were Tom KB9VMW and Dave K9DVL. After nominations were closed a vote was taken and Dave, K9DVL was elected as Vice President. Dave then stepped down as a member of the board of Directors.  Nominations were opened for the Board of Directors position. Tom, KB9VMW, was nominated.  Nominations were then closed. A vote was taken and Tom was elected as a  member of the Board of Directors for 2008.

A motion was made and seconded to keep the remaining existing club officers for 2008. Motion carried.

Club Officers for 2008 are as follows:

President, Chuck Hendrickson, N9PMW.
Vice President, Dave Rothermel, K9DVL
Treasurer, Dave Wandrei, N9WCQ
Secretary, Tom Murray, KB9WSL

Board Members are:

Tom Denton, KB9VMW
Ed Norris, K9PSR
Bob Minnick, K9AWH

FIELD DAY:

Chuck, N9PMW, reported that the bob-tail curtain and the NVIS antenna used for field day had been taken down recently. He stated the eye bolts on the bob tail curtain need to be replaced. Also, the NVIS antenna was  damaged…however it can be repaired.

Dave, K9DVL purchased some fiberglass mast sections at a hamfest recently for $40. A motion was made and seconded to purchase  them from Dave for $40. Motion carried. The mast sections will be used to support antennas at Field Day and for emergencies.

Chuck, N9PMW, reported that the Yaseu ampis working however it has not been tested on the air yet. Dave, K9DVL reported the Heath Kit Amp has had new capacitors and diodes put in it. 

GOOD OF THE CLUB:

Dan, KV9N, asked if the 180 repeater could be linked to the 440 repeater. He said he has problems during the summer months getting into the 180 repeater from his home on his HT. He can get into the 440 machine. Phil, W9LVY said it‘s  possible that something could be done to accomplish that.

BILLS:

Bill for $15 to the Secretary fo State office for Club’s non-profit status.
Bill for $24.19 for postage for Feed line Newsletter.
Bill for $13.72 for December meeting notices.

A motion was made and seconded to pay the bills. Motion carried.

Next meeting will be January, 19th,2008 at 9am at the Cass County EMA building.

50/50:

$11.00 raised. Winner was Chuck, N9PMW.

Meeting was adjourned at 10:37 am.
