Chuck,

I think the Red Cross project sounds great. Maybe if there is some way the 
Club could help mentor Red Cross personnel for testing they could consider 
continuation of paying the phone line costs as a donation to the Club? I 
think we could also come out ahead by picking up some new club members.
I think if we could have some study time after each meeting and some sort of 
demostration or elmering during a segment of each meeting we could kill two 
birds with one stone. Help in comprehending the theory and mechanics of ham 
radio and having something new to attract interest from potentially new 
members. If Red cross is serious about getting their people trained, maybe 
the Red Cross lady or some of their peoeple should get a written or personal 
invite to attend the February meeting to talk things over.

Just some of my first-thoughts, from our skywarn training last year in 
Fulton county we picked up a couple of new Young hams (Late teens to mid  
20's) just by having an amateur station set-up at our skywarn training 
meeting.
