Everyone,

THIS IS AN EMAIL VERSION OF A STANDBY "NET"

I just left a meeting with Alvin and several EMA members. In this meeting the discussion was about their response to this winter storm that will start tonight. They will be manning EMA and available for public help from now until it's over 24/7. Alvin requested our assistance in a standby mode at this time, stating that he may need help in communications. I asked for more specifics and at this point in time he wasn't exactly sure what that might mean. I take this to mean we man his radios while they are available to do their thing. If you are planning on helping out in the snow there will be other instructions and gear
At the moment I'd like to know who will or might be available to help at EMA with communications or in another capacity as what times of day you are available. I will stress that your primary job comes first! If you aren't available due to employment, we'll find someone else. I do NOT want people to sleep deprive themselves to a dangerous level for work or for this. We need to be fresh and alert as possible, this is the real thing with real lives involved.

I'm only taking names and times of the day or night you are available and I will let Alvin know for his "pool". Please make sure I have a phone number to get hold of you for the times you are available. Thanks again for everyone's help past present and future.
