REPEATER:

Phil, W9LVY, discussed an intermittent humming noise on the 147.180
repeater. Chuck, N9PMW thinks the hum may be temperature related. Phil also
asked if someone would want to work on making some new repeater
announcements.

OLD BUSINESS:

Chuck, N9PMW, advised the Club he will make contact with Alvin Beckman EMA
Director about placement of utility poles for the HF loop antenna at EMA.
Chuck said work would probably not begin until the weather warms up. He will
also contact Alvin ref installation of the brace for the table-top for the
Club’s area in the EMA Comm room.

A motion was made by Phil, W9LVY and seconded by Tom, KB9VMW to purchase the
brace for the table-top in the Comm Room. Motion carried. There was also
discussion about what antennas the Club has on the tower at the EMA site.
There was also discussion about moving the bulkheads for the coaxial cables
in the attic at EMA and getting ready to run coax into the new Comm room at
EMA.

A reminder was issued regarding the Advanced Storm Spotter Training on
Saturday, March 10,2007 at Elkhart. The Basic Storm Spotter Class will be
presented at the Cass County EMA building on March 27th at 6:30pm.

NEW BUSINESS:

Chuck, N9PMW, thanked everyone who advised they would be available to assist
the EMA during the Blizzard earlier in the week. On that subject, Phil,
W9LVY, asked if a call tree had been set-up so EMA would know who to contact
for the Club to assist during an emergency. Chuck stated a call-tree has not
been drafted yet.

There was also some discussion about creating an inventory list of all of
the Club’s equipment. At this time the Club’s equipment is scattered at
several different locations.

Chuck, also advised members present that the Red Cross would like to drop
the phone line for the auto-patch on the 147.180 repeater. The cost of the
phone line is 200 dollars and the Red Cross would like to eliminate that
expense. The Red Cross would also like the Club to consider offering
licensing classes for Red Cross volunteers. The Red Cross is looking to
apply for a grant to get some radio equipment for emergency communications
and would like to Club to provide some guidance. The Club could also
possibly get some new equipment through the Red Cross grant. Chuck will try
to set-up a meeting between Red Cross Officials and the Club.

FIELD DAY:

Chuck would like some ideas on what the Club would like to do for Field Day
as far as modes and how many stations to operate. Dave, K9DVL also suggested
the Field Day equipment, radios, antennas and rotators be checked out
before Field Day weekend. Anyone with ideas is asked to contact N9PMW.
