MINUTES OF THE  1-2-2007 MEETING OF THE C.C.A.R.C.


The meeting was called to order at 9:05am by Chuck, N9PMW.

SECRETARY’S REPORT:

The Minutes of the December 2006 meeting were read with corrections made to 
the Bills submitted at the December meeting. Corrections were postage for 
meeting notices of $23.40 cents  in addition to the $40.00 for post office 
box rent. The minutes were approved with the necessary corrections.

TREASURER’S REPORT:

Dave, N9WCQ presented the report.
Balance as of 12-16-2006 $605.87
Check to Dave, N9WCQ for postage for meeting notices $23.40
Deposit of $52.00 from dues receipts
Ending balance of $634.47

The Treasurer’s report was approved as presented.

REPEATER:

Phil, W9LVY, reported the PL receiver at the EMA building was not working. 
It was discovered the receiver had been accidentally unplugged from AC 
power. Phil re-routed the extension cord so it would not happen again.

OLD BUSINESS:

Chuck, N9PMW, reported that the tax receipt for Randy ,W9CFI, was completed 
for the amount of $500 for donation of a tower and multi-band HF antenna to 
the Club.

Chuck also reported that after a long delay, the Cass County EMA will be 
making ID badges for club members. The badges are to be made at the February 
Club meeting. The badges will be able to include a lot of information along 
with a photo ID.

There was also discussion about getting HF antennas installed at the EMA 
building for the Club Station. It is hoped four wooden utility poles can be 
set soon for an HF loop antenna. There was also discussion about getting a 
lock for the cabinet in the EMA Communications room where the Club’s amateur 
stations will be installed. The lock would provide security for the 
equipment and prevent unauthorized use of the amateur radios by unlicensed 
and unauthorized personnel.

Davy,K9DVL, advised the Club there was a tri-band (6-meter,2-meter,440) 
antenna for sale on e-bay.  The buy it now price was around 74 dollars. 
Phil, W9LVY made a motion which was seconded by K9PSR to authorize K9DVL to 
spend up to $100 dollars to purchase the antenna. Motion carried. (K9DVL was 
successful in buying the antenna on e-bay)

NEW BUSINESS:

Don, K9EQT, advised the Club he would like someone to take over the exam 
sessions. Chuck, N9PMW said he would be willing to take over from Don.

The National Weather Service will hold a Storm Spotter Training class at the 
Cass County EMA building on March the 6th at 6:30pm.

BILLS:

Dave, N9WCQ, had a bill for postage for meeting notices of $7.80. A motion 
was made and seconded to pay the bill. Motion carried.

The next Club meeting will be February 17th at 9am at the Cass County EMA 
building.

50/50:

9 dollars raised. Winner was KV9N
