Greetings one and all,
Here's hoping this finds everyone in good spirits gearing up for next weekend. This will be the first of many posts this week giving last minute updates, requests and reminders. Not to mention help psych us all up for a great weekend.
Tonight I'm going to talk about raffle prizes. Rae tells me this year as in the past we are having lots of cool things coming our way. Gift cards and gift certificates from several different places, a cordless driver, several multimeters, several pens and tablets, an indoor/outdoor thermometer and this is just some of the stuff I have! Rae is collecting the bulk of the stuff. The price for tickets is the same as in the past $1.00 each and 6 tickets for $5.00. The suggestion this year on how to do things is a little different from the past. Rae said at the meeting that we've grouped things for a "showcase" style prize package and we've left them individual for more winners. This year we'll be doing a little of both with a twist. We have had in the past people winning and being the generous winners they are offer to throw the prize back into the pot for someone else to win. When that happens this year we will take the original prize, add a prize to it and draw a new name. If the prize is turned down again by the next winner another prize will be added and a new name drawn, and so forth until it's claimed. If all the prizes are turned down they will be distributed equally between the Field Day coordinator and the prize coordinator. hi Ok, well it sounded like a good plan to me. Besides it was Rae's idea to say that. hi
This year we have a new and very very generous gift that we'll be raffling off. Bob K9AWH will be donating for a special raffle a Yaesu FT757. We will be using this radio as the GOTA station up until the cookout/drawing so anyone participating can have an opportunity to see it, touch it and probably use it for a little while. Tickets for this special raffle will be $5.00 each. There will be no special price break for this raffle so whether you buy 1 ticket or 50 tickets they'll be $5.00 each. Since this is a "major" prize this is why the special raffle and why the higher price for these tickets. I hope this will help raise some funds for the treasury. If you get the opportunity give Bob a thank you for this idea and for the generous donation.
I think I'll close this evening's message so I'll have other things to talk about tomorrow.
Brandon or John, if and or when you join the remailer please let me know so I won't be duplicating this to you.
