Howdy all,
Volume 4 of this weekly buildup. Ya'll tired of hearing from me yet? Tonight we have "updates" to talk about and plan for as well. I got a call this morning from the Mayor's office from Becky. She informed me that the proclamation is done. Mayor Mike will be bringing aformentioned proclamation out to the Field Day site and read it!! Ok, here's where it gets a little weird. Mike has another thing to do Saturday afternoon so he'll be there to do the ceremony of opening Field Day at noon. He may be able to stay a little bit but he'll have to go to do his other thing. Obviously we can't do real "Field Day" contacts but we can make a few practice ones and even let him make one if he wants to. At least we can show him around and stuff. That all said, we're going to need a few things for this ceremony.
1. A hunk of old coax, I think RG58 would work and I MAY have some here.
2. A pair of dikes to properly "cut the ribbon"
3. Cameras, cameras cameras to mark this cool event!!!
4. Everyone possible around to witness and to fill the picture BEFORE NOON SATURDAY!!!! The ceremony itself will be AT NOON!!
I will work tomorrow to try to get Eric Pfieffer out to the site then so he can get whatever he needs for the news dealy he'll be writing. Notice I'm writing in the positive and hoping that we'll get SOMEONE out there to report the news. Since I mentioned Eric, it's a good time to remind everyone that we'll be doing the Talk of the town tomorrow morning at 8:05 to 8:30 to report on Field Day and tell the public about it. If you can't listen that's ok they'll have it for a few days after on the website archived. I'll remind Greg about it during the break so it's hopefully not forgotten.
All in all, last minute details are getting worked out. Not always how we think they will but somehow they are. The closer it's getting the more wired I'm getting!! Either that or the more frazzled I'm getting. Thing is I'm not sure which it is but whatever it is I'm REALLLLLLY gettin it!! Hope everyone is doing well!! See ya tomorrow!!
