[Ccarc] Field Day scoring

Ok, now that we have the real work out of the way now it's time to do the point totals and such. Obviously from a few of the photos it's evidenced now that I did NOT make it through all 24 hours of Field Day and there were periods of time where I was indeed unconscious. That said I need everyone to think about the day and try to remember a few things that I may or may not have seen myself.

1. Did we get the W1AW Field Day message? If so I need a copy for the summary sheet.
2. How many kids under 18 did we have that completed at least one QSO.

I know we're not necessarily concerned about points but looking at things and what little I've done thusfar we're hovering around the 1200 to 1400 range. No it's not up to what we normally do. Then again, we don't have the normal multiplier we would because we used the amp. Unfortunately we lost the amp 6 hours into the operation so still have to score ourselves as if we had the amp because we started with the amp. Anyway, all in all I don't think we did all that badly given the challenges we had. I did notice that the GOTA station really does help us and my decision to omit it this year really brought the score down some. Anyway, here's the break down of the contacts.

488 phone contacts
19 digital contacts
7 CW contacts
514 total contacts
540 qso points.

The only sections we missed were:

Puerto Rico
Eastern Washington State
Santa Barbara
East Bay (San Francisco area)
Montana
Oregon
Wyoming
Alaska
North Dakota
Newfoundland
Saskatchewan
Quebec
Manitoba
Northern Territories
British Columbia

Missing only 15 out of 80 sections is to be commended. Since sections are used instead of states we actually worked 45 states. Missing only Alaska, Oregon, Montana, Wyoming, and North Dakota. Notice that the states missed were either wayyyyy far away or have few amateurs in them. I did have to take one contact away because I saw we contacted N9LMC on 2m. Unfortunately we can't log a contact with a participant from our own operation. Not a huge deal just a minor oopsie.

Stating the incredibly obvious, it's WET out there at the site and the drive has lots of mud. Because of this we left the trailers out in the field and will retrieve them after it's dried a little bit. The bobtail curtain is still up as well. We plan on doing some checking and testing to see if we can possibly improve on it. I will inform everyone about when we will need help doing stuff for this. Anyway, please let me know about the questions above so we can put everything in the can so to speak. Have a great day.
