                      MINUTES OF THE 10-20-2007 MEETING OF THE C.C.A.R.C.


The meeting was called to order at 9:09 am by Chuck, N9PMW.

SECRETARY’S REPORT:

Minutes of the August18th, 2007 meeting were presented by Tom, KB9WSL. The 
minutes were approved as presented without corrections.

TREASURER’S REPORT:

Dave, N9WCQ, presented the Treasurer’s report.

Beginning balance of $300.23

Deposit of  $259.00 from raffle at cook-out.
Deposit of $30.00 from dues payments.
Deposit of $15.00 from dues payment.
Ending balance is $604.23

The Treasurer’s report was approved as presented.

REPEATER:

Phil, W9LVY reports that the 147.180 repeater is working great since the 
recent work was completed at the Chase Park water tower. It was also 
reported that  the PL needs to be activated for the 440 Mhz link transmitter 
from EMA site to the Water tower. Also, Chuck, N9PMW, reported that the link 
antenna at the EMA tower has been replaced and put up higher on the tower. 
The 145.230 repeater was also moved to beneath the stairway at the EMA 
garage. Chuck reported the 145.350 repeater at his QTH is off the air. There 
is a problem with it and it is awaiting  possible repairs. Chuck also asked 
those in attendance what else needs to be done at EMA. It was mentioned an 
HF antenna is needed. There was some discussion about installing an 
inverted-V antenna at EMA for 80 and/or 40 meters.

OLD BUSINESS:

It was reported that the cook-out at Spencer Park was a success. $259.00 was 
raised as a result of the raffle which had been postponed from Field Day due 
to weather.

Bob,K9AWH, reported that the EMA has received 16 new laptop computers. Three 
of the new computers will be located in the EMA Communications room, with 
one being at the Club station in the Comm Room. The Comm room has InterNet 
access.

Todd, N9PVQ, mentioned that anytime there is severe weather threatening Cass 
County, a Net should be brought up. Anyone can bring up a storm net on the 
17.180 repeater. Chuck, N9PMW, will post protocols about Storm Nets on the 
Club Web-site. Chuck also reported that the State EC asks that all Storm 
Nets use the phrase “SKYWARN NET”.  The State EC also would like reports for 
nets of  ALL TYPES reported so that ARRL can be advised of Net Activity, 
man-hours, duration and such. Chuck will get with Terry, N9ZMY in an effort 
to get net reports to the State EC.



BILLS:

The following bills were submitted:

$19.27 for postage for September meeting notices and for mailing The 
Feedline.

$34.00 for Post office for Post office box rent.

$210.00 for payment of Club’s Insurance Coverage.

$26.50 for Funeral Flowers for Bob Fickle.

$29.87 for rope and pipe for projects at EMA and the 147.180 repeater.

Motion was made and seconded to pay the bills. Motion carried.

GOOD OF THE CLUB:

Two Complimentary tickets to the upcoming Ft.Wayne Hamfest and Computer show 
were sold. Phil W9LVY bought one ticket for $2.00. Bob, K9AWH bought the 
other for $1.00. Money raised goes to the Club Treasury.

50/50:   $10.00 raised…winner was Don, K9EQT….$5.00.

NEXT MEETING:  Will be Saturday, November 17th at 9am at the Cass County EMA 
building.

Meeting Adjourned at  10:03 am.

                  MINUTES OF THE 8-18-2007 MEETING OF THE C.C.A.R.C.


The meeting was called to order at 9:11 am by Chuck, N9PMW.

SECRETARY‘S REPORT:

The minutes of the July 2007 meeting were read by Tom, KB9WSL. The minutes 
were approved with one correction, the August meeting date will be the 18th, 
rather than the 16th as listed in the July minutes.

TREASURER’S REPORT:

Balance as of 7-22-2007 was $324.98

Deposit of $5.00 from 50/50
Deposit of $30.00 from Dues payments

Ending balance of  $332.98

REPEATER:

Chuck, N9PMW, reported that the link at the EMA site for the 147.180 
repeater is working. He stated there has been an intermittent problem with 
the link receiver.

OLD BUSINESS:

Chuck reported that there was a good work session in the EMA Communications 
room recently. Several club members were on hand to assist. A lock still 
needs to be installed on the cabinet in the Club’s section of the Comm room. 
Also the bulkhead for the feed lines for the Club antennas needs to be 
relocated and installed in the attic at the EMA building.

Chuck reported that the cookout will be September 9th at the lower pavilion 
at Spencer Park in Logansport. The fee to rent the pavilion was 13 dollars. 
The Club will have the pavilion from 1pm that day until closing.

Dave K9DVL suggested a reminder be sent out on the remailer asking members 
to try and locate the Club Banner.

NEW BUSINESS:

There was discussion about when Club membership dues would be due. Dave, 
K9DVL suggested  dues be due on January 1st.  After much discussion it was 
decided  that notes would be sent out with new membership applications 
reminding those who are delinquent to pay their dues.

GOOD OF THE CLUB:

Chuck, N9PMW, announced that antenna testing on the bob-tail curtain will be 
done this coming Friday. The antenna will then be taken down. It has been at 
  Don’s QTH since field day.

BILLS:

$13.00 park pavilion rent for cook-out.
$12.19 for buns for Field Day.
$5.17 for plastic eating utensils.
$14.19 for food for Field Day.
$ 8.40 for June-July-August meeting minutes.
$75.00 for port-a-pot for Field Day.

A motion was made and seconded to pay the bills. Motion carried.

50/50:

$10.00 raised.  Winner was K9DVL. He donated the winnings back to the club.

Next Meeting will be Saturday, September 15th at 9am at the Cass County EMA 
building.

Meeting adjourned at 10:18 am.
