MINUTES OF THE JUNE 21,2008 MEETING OF THE C.C.A.R.C.
The meeting was called to order by Chuck, N9PMW at 9:04 am
SECRETARY’S REPORT:
The Minutes of the May 14th,2008 meeting were read by Tom, KB9WSL. The minutes were approved as presented without additions or corrections.
TREASURER’S REPORT:
The treasurer’s report was presented by Dave, N9WCQ.
Balance as of May 14th 2008 was $266.94.
Check to Dave, N9WCQ for $11.89 for meeting notices.
Deposit of $200.00
Deposit of $10.00
Deposit of $9.00
Deposit of $20.00
Ending balance is $494.05
Dave reported the balance in the repeater controller fund is $ 125.00
The Treasurer’s report was approved as presented.
REPEATER:
Phil, W9LVY, reported the amplifier for the 147.180 repeater is putting out at least 100 Watts. He also reported the 145.230 repeater is down due to a bad amplifier. He is looking for amplifiers to replace the bad one.
ARES/RACES:
Chuck, N9PMW, thanked the Club for the good participation in the recent severe weather nets. He reminded everyone that all traffic during weather nets needs to go through Net control. Chuck also reminded everyone that September 1st,2008 is the deadline to become NIMS certified for ARES/RACES personnel. He said IS-100, IS-200 and IS-700 are needed along with IS-800. They training and testing can all be done on-line on the FEMA website.
FIELD DAY:
Rae, N9YFW, Reported he is still planning a raffle during field day but it will be on a smaller scale than in the past. Tom KB9VMW, said he has the radios for the VHF-UHF stations and believes the cables are located. Field Day set-up starts Friday at 2pm. Rae also said he has 10 pounds of hot dogs and 10-pounds of burgers for the cook-out Saturday evening. Chuck asked that members email him with the items they will be bringing for the meal.
GOOD OF THE CLUB:
Phil, W9LVY, reported that a new generator will be installed at the Chase Park water tower. When that happens the large back-up batteries will need to come out. He says the batteries are very heavy but will need a new home.
BILLS:
Dave, K9DVL had a bill for $8.07 for parts to repair the Bob-Tail curtain antenna. A motion was made and seconded to pay the bill. Motion carried.
50/50:
$15.00 raised. Winner was Rae, N9YFW.
The next meeting will be held Saturday, July 19th,2008 at 9am at the Cass County EMA building.
Meeting adjourned at 10:22 am.
A work session followed the meeting.
