Greetings ya'll,
This is to remind everyone of the work session coming up this Saturday the 27th at EMA. This is the same work session originally planned for the 13th but postponed due to the remnants of hurricane Ike spoiling our fun. At any rate most if not all the work is outside on the tower. We are planning on taking down two (2) of the commercial antennas and replacing them with antennas tuned for the amateur bands. We have a dual band antenna and a tri-band antenna to install. We've already taken some pictures of things so we're already pretty darned sure of what we're facing, (thanks again to digital cameras and extreme zoom). Speaking of the zoom, we were able to take some of the pictures so clear we could almost tell whether the bolts had a right or left handed thread on them. Nevertheless, what we're hoping is that the weather stays like it is and helps facilitate this venture. What I am once again asking for is ground help. We have a great plan in place as to what we want to do and how we want to do it but we'll need hands on the ground to make it so. Testing of the coax/hardline will also be completed Saturday. What we're hoping is that we can take the results and publish them in numerous locations so that we don't lose them as we've done in years past. In any event, you see the tasks we're facing, I'm asking for the help needed to facilitate completing these tasks to help make the repeaters better. I will thank you all in advance for this event and I'm sure I'll be thanking folks come Saturday as well.
Hope to see as many of you as possible Saturday at 9:00 at EMA!!!
